Winter Shack Season 3 | Installment No.4

Winter Shack is pleased to invite you to our final event of the season with Robin Beth Schaer, Todd Chandler, and Will Chancellor. Todd Chandler will project several short films accompanied by Robin Beth Schaer reading poems that explore oceanic expanses and intimate dangers and Will Chancellor will read from his novel in progress.

Will Chancellor is the author of A Brave Man Seven Storeys Tall. His writing has appeared in Book Forum, Tin House, The Scofield, Electric Literature, Lit Hub, Buzzfeed and Interview Magazine. He is currently working on his second novel, To Test the Meaning of Certain Dreams.

Todd Chandler is a filmmaker, musician, and interdisciplinary artist. Live performance, installation, and site-specific events are natural extensions of his films. His work is often set within real life contexts and infused with fictional narratives. His first feature film, Flood Tide (2013), documents and reimagines a journey down the Hudson River on the Swimming Cities of Switchback Sea, a fleet of sculptural rafts dreamed up by the artist Swoon.  He is the co-creator of Empire Drive-In, with Jeff Stark, and was a founding member of the Miss Rockaway Armada, and the band Dark Dark Dark. He teaches in the Department of Film at Brooklyn College.

Robin Beth Schaer is the author of the poetry collection Shipbreaking (Anhinga 2015). Her writing has appeared in Tin House, Paris Review, and Guernica, among others. She has received fellowships from Yaddo, Djerassi, Saltonstall, Vermont Studio Center, and VCCA. She teaches writing in New York City and worked as a deckhand aboard the Tall Ship Bounty, a 180-foot ship lost in Hurricane Sandy.
